1. Our Changing Climate
This channel creates beautifully edited video essays on a biweekly basis, and covers "humanity's relationship to the natural world." Some of our favourite videos from this channel are "Biomimicry is More Than Just Good Design", "Why Celebrities Won't Save Us," and "Does Eco-Socialism Actually Work?"
I'm shocked that these videos aren't created by a huge team of talented videographers and journalists, but just one person. High quality, reliable, entertaining, and a great introduction into the climate change world.

2. Simon Clark
Simon Clark has a PhD in Climate Physics, and further describes himself as "a choral scholar, Oxford graduate, book geek, cinephile, and Oxford comma enthusiast." Simon's charismatic presence and strong background in climate science make his videos a delight. He covers topics such as "How the Cold War Led Us to Climate Change", "Why Weathermen Were Illegal Wizards for 97 Years" and "YouTube's Surprising Carbon Footprint."
Peppered with clips and narrated in his crisp voice, Simon's videos are credible and look at climate change from an academic perspective while having fun once and a while (hence the weathermen being wizards video).

3. Kurtis Baute
Much like Simon above, Kurtis provides an academic perspective to climate change YouTube. He has a MSc in Environmental Science and makes videos about climate change, but also does funky stuff like "seals [himself] in a jar with a bunch of plants, or ties [himself] onto trees to prevent oil pipelines from being built." Needless to say, his videos are both informative and surprising.

It's been a tough week.
Record breaking heat waves are erupting across Canada, the Gulf of Mexico is on fire because of ruptured pipes, and Exxon (fossil fuel company) lobbyists were captured on video admitting that they fought to hide and undermine climate science and legislation. These developments and huge weather events prove a straightforward fact: climate change is real, and we are seeing its effects in real time. Before taking action, however, it's worth taking some time to do some background reading to get some information on this issue.
Reading books isn't everyone's cup of tea, we get that (but if it is, check out this page for some great introductory climate change reading resources), so in this post, we'll be sharing our top three favourite climate change YouTubers!
Well made, clearly presented videos can be a valuable addition to your climate change education toolkit. Each of the creators named below bring a different perspective to the table, and we hope you take the time to check out their great work!
